I thought it was a damn intense episode and Sherlock and Kitty were both outstanding--I love Joan as well, but I really felt Kitty's anger and fear and Sherlock's worry came through ten-fold.
Quick question--did we know prior to tonight's episode that Kitty escaped from her rapist? I knew she had been held for three days and horribly tortured but I hadn't realized that she got away from the psycho herself.
Elementary has steadily developed a habit of wrapping up major story-lines in a couple of episodes. the whole Moriarty thing could have lasted longer but was prematurely wrapped up. Their 'Kitty rape' story is no different and it feels like everything is so rushed. Clearly the producers are determined that the show be a 'bottle show' where stories are wrapped up in a couple of episodes (as opposed to having story arcs that span multiple episodes). Having said which this was an above average episode, but felt rushed for a single 'hour' of TV.
