Interview with Elementary's exec producers

ā€œI’d like to show that a man and a woman can be friends and go to work and live together and not end up romantically entangled.ā€

This interview talks about their decision to make Watson a woman, the inevitable comparisons with Sherlock and the direction the show will go in.

It just made me all the more excited. ♄

Seriously, I don't believe a word when they say there won't be an
eventual "romantic" relationship. That's why they cast Lucy Liu instead
of Camryn Manheim or someone who isn't considered "hot" by the
powers that be at CBS.

But I'm still going to watch, mainly because I love Jonny Lee Miller
and Aidan Quinn.

I don't actually mind if they end up hooking up, but I do appreciate them trying to have men and women be friends and not automatically romantic.

Well, I certainly hope they stick to their guns in this regard. Media is seriously lacking in opposite sex friendships.
