I hope they don't hyper-sexualize her.

Again.

I think for the first time so far I was bored by the case and more interested in Joan digging up some dirt on Sherlock. *nods*

I hope to hell the writers handle Irene better than Moftiss did. *nods*

I'm not sure how they could handle her worse...

[identity profile] sha-chan.livejournal.com 2012-11-09 04:24 pm (UTC)(link)
given the treatment of female characters so far I am certainly optimistic (but still have my fingers crossed)

"I know about Irene."

ARGH!! WHY?!?

Also, wasn't it supposed to be "I-ree-nay"--three syllables, not two?

Rassa-frassa-fragging...

For me Alastair stole the episode with his scenes meeting Joan at the restaurant and at the bookstore. He seems like an intriguing character - I hope we see more of him! Liked that she used her sleuthing skills to track him down. And that comment re:diabetic suspect. SO SASSY BB <3

Also, that last scene was just killer. just UHHHHGGGG

Oh yeah, Alistair was pretty awesome. :)

I'm calling it right now-- "Alistair" is actually Mycroft.

oooh I like this theory

Too old and not fat enough.

I'm going with no. Yeah, Mycroft is older, but not that much older, y'know?

maybe I'm being too optimistic but for me, the thing with Irene could probably be something related to his detective work? something terrible!! happened of course for him to break the way he did--maybe it was a big case and people died. maybe Irene was one of them? (though I wouldn't like this option, I certainly don't want her to be dead)

idk, maybe it's just me being hopeful!! but we'll just have to wait and see

My hunch is she's not dead. If I remember correctly, the writers tweeted that we would see her. *nods*

Maybe the fact she beat him is what kicked off Sherlock's downward spiral? Instead of gaining his respect, he ended up resenting her and questioning his abilities and turned to drugs to cope? Canon-with-a-twist.

Yay, I expected as much :D

I am very much clinging to this option. It would be fascinating to watch!

I enjoyed the episode. I also really liked Allistair, he sounds like a great character. I love it when we meet people from Sherlock's past, very exciting. It will be very interesting to see where they take this whole Irene business. Joan was a very smart cookie in this episode, I very much like that about her.

Can't wait for next week! :D

Ugh, it was an awesome episode, the character development has been great so far!

Alistar/Alistair (sp?), was a relly nice surprise, I'll bet that he's gonna be a regular guest.

And the Irene part?, OMG, cannot wait to see how they are going to work with her. I do believe that there wasn't anything romantic between them, I can accept that Sherlock could have had an atraction towards her, but I don't believe she reciprocated. Maybe Sherlock screw something major and she got burn, dunno. But I'm sure he failed her somehow.

And this might be random, but, don't you guys love JLM body language?, I seriously love how "much" emotion/meaning he carries in a single look/posture, and the promos for the nex episode aldkfjadlkfjadñlfkj.

In short, Elementary is doing extremly well (IMLTHO) in the character development, I can only hope that this will continue. <3

It's fascinating to watch both JLM and Lucy Liu. It's a testament to how great their acting is that the show has so many long pans just to close-up on their reactions to things. I mean, they're that good. No need for fancy angles or cutting to things--it's just them--being amazing actors.

I'm very pleased with the caliber of acting from the both of them.

MY WISH IS FOR MORE CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT FOR DETECTIVE BELL.

Also, what the hell ever happened to the guy from the pilot? The one who worked in the evidence unit or w/e? Disappointed that he disappeared.
