"Hello April. This is Sherlock Holmes. May I speak to my father please?" Sherlock asked.

"Certainly, Mr. Holmes. One moment please." The secretary replied. Sherlock nodded, barely paying attention to the woman. His mind was on his former friend and drug dealer Rhys and Joan his sober companion.

Finally after two minutes a male voice said; "Hello Sherlock."

"Hello Father," Sherlock replied. "I'm sorry to bother you, but I need your help."

"What have you done, Sherlock?" His father asked wearily. "Gotten some woman pregnant perhaps?"

The younger Holmes grimaced. "I have done many things sir, but I've never gotten a woman pregnant."
He heard his father sigh. "I apologize, son. Now, tell me. What's going on?"

So Sherlock told his father about Rhys, his daughter and the girl's kidnapping. After a few minutes his father agreed to send the funds his son needed to ensure the girl's release.

"Thank you Father." Sherlock said.

"There is one more thing, Sherlock. Has Ms. Watson found another client yet?"

"Another client?" Sherlock was stunned. "No. Why?"

"The contract that she signed had expired two weeks ago. I assumed that she found another client since we last spoken."

"No, no. She never said anything." Sherlock answered. He glanced at the clock on his phone and said; "I'm sorry Father, but I have to go. I thank you for your help and for telling me about Watson."

"You're welcome, Sherlock." His father replied. "Good luck on your current case and again, I am sorry about Ms. Watson." Sherlock nodded and hung the cell phone.

At that moment his father sounded sincere but Sherlock knew that feeling would pass as quickly as it came. No matter. He had a case to solve and solve it, he will.
