The cab ride back to the brownstone was a quiet one as Joan refused to look or speak to Sherlock due to the fact he was right about Bruce. It was childish she knew. Still, it bothered her that the man sitting beside her was always right.

After twenty minutes the cab stopped in front of their home and the cabbie said, "That will be $35.00 folks." Joan sighed and went to open her purse when Sherlock said: "I'll get it, Watson."

"You sure?" She asked. Sherlock nodded and pulled out a fifty dollar bill, saying to the cabbie. "Keep the change." The cabbie thanked Sherlock while he and Joan exited the cab. "Watson how do feel about  a cup of tea?" Sherlock asked. Joan laughed.

"Sherlock, I know that you like my mother's recipe, but I think that you should stop drinking it now. Otherwise, the tea will lose its healing effect."  But Sherlock shook his head. "I wasn't thinking of your mother's tea Watson. But my mother's."

Joan was surprised. " Really? What kind of tea did she like?"

Sherlock smiled. "She was fond of Earl Grey in the mornings, but preferred Orange Blossum  in the afternoon."

"And which on e do you prefer?" Joan asked. Sherlock grinned. "Earl Grey of course."

"Okay. I'm going to take a shower." Joan told him. Sherlock nodded. "That's fine, Watson. Everything will be ready by the time you're done."

Just how long does it take for tea to boil? Joan wondered, as she entered the bathroom. Thirty minutes later Joan discovered the reason why it took Sherlock so long to make a simple pot of tea.

"Wow. Sherlock this is incredible." Joan said as she took in the sight of the spread in front of her. "But who or what is this for?"

Again Sherlock smiled. "It's for you. Consider it a 'thank you,' for helping me the other day when I had the flu."

Joan was touched by Sherlock's gesture. "That's nice of you, Sherlock but I really don't need any thanks. I was just doing my job."

"I disagree Watson," Sherlock told her. "I know that what you did was not the actions of a sober companion, but that of a friend." He gestured to the table. "Shall we?"

Smiling Joan allowed Sherlock to serve her and he was the one who poured the tea. "Shouldn't I do that?" Joan asked.

"Normally I'd agree," Sherlock said with a shrug. "But I think I can handle it." He handed her a cup.

Joan eyed the sandwiches . "Where did you get these?" She asked, grabbing a cucumber sandwich and sitting it down on her plate.

"From the new deli down the street," Sherlock answered. He too choose a cucumber sandwich and took a sip of tea. "How do like the tea?"

"It's good." Joan replied. "I'm not sure I could eat all of this in one sitting though." Sherlock grinned.

"Don't worry, Watson. Whatever we don't finish I'll put in the fridge." Joan smiled. "Good. I know what I'm having for lunch tomorrow."

Sherlock smiled back. "I'm glad that you enjoyed it, Watson. It was nice to have enjoyed a proper cup of tea."

The End.
