What everyone else had said above, in addition to the fact they introduced a rape survivor as just an average person opening a door before we saw her backstory. It was an excellent way to show the audience that we don't know who around us has been sexually assaulted, just by looking.
Great point regarding survivors of sexual assault. You cannot tell just by looking at a person--or even knowing them for months, even years! It was a bit disturbing that they showed some of the clips, though, when Sherlock was going through the blackmailer's laptop.
Yes, I don't know what they were going for with the clips, probs a combination of "show, don't tell" and giving Miller more of a chance to display his has emotions but still is super-logical and processes everything version of Sherlock.
