A/N This is only a portion of what I've done for the final part of this story. More is to come so please comment.

For Tobias Gregson it seemed to be just another day at the precinct. People were coming and going, criminals were being processed into the system. It was just another day for the captain and the NYPD.

However, when he heard a knock on the door he sighed. "Come in."

"Sorry to bother you, Captain." Detective Marcus Bell said. "I just got a text from Holmes asking if you gotten any packages today."

Gregson frowned. "Packages? No, not today. Is there anything else that Holmes wrote in that text message?" Bell glanced down at his phone. "Yeah, Holmes said to be on the lookout for a man in a bavk jacket. He also said that he and Ms. Watson will be here soon."

That got Tobias's attention. "What here at the precinct? Today of all days?" He sighed. Fine! Text Holmes back and tell him, I'll be here waiting."

The detective nodded. "i'll get right on it, Captain." Gregson nodded and then muttered: "First the commissioner, now this? Could this week get any worse?"

It wasn't long that he would soon discover just how bad things could be.

Meanwhile, as the captain and the detetective were finishing their discussion a stranger entered the precinct . "Excuse me, but does a Captain Gregson work here? I have a special delivery for him." The man said.

"Who wants to know?"  The sergeant behind the desk asked. But before the officer could get a reply to his question, Detective Bell had arrived at the scene.

"Is there a problem here, Tommy?" He asked. But Tommy shook his head . "No problem here, Chief."

Bell turned to the stranger and said:  "Okay, mister. If you would just hand over that package, after you give me your name; I'm sure we can straighten all of this out."

Jackson began to speak when a voice said: "I can tell you, detective exactly who that man is."

Bell turned and saw Sherlock followed by Joan Watson enter the precinct. "Holmes, do you know this guy?"

Sherlock nodded. "He was once known as Treaver Jackson, but now is simply goes by Jackson.
His employer is none than Moriarty."

Bell was confused. Joan couldn't blame him for she was also confused by Sherlock's statement.

"Um, Holmes how do you know this guy?" The detective asked. Sherlock smiled. "Mr. Jackson was the one who delivered a package to me and one to Ms. Watson earlier today."

"And what was in those packages, yours and Ms. Watson's?" Bell asked.

"Letters, some diary enteries and a few photos," Holmes replied. "If you would premit me, Detective Bell. I'll take that package to the captain now."

"Fine by me,"Bell agreed. Staring hard at Jackson, who reluctantly gave the package to the detective, who in turn gave it to Sherlock as he made his way to Gregson's office with Joan close behind him.

"Holmes, I should warn you, the Commissioner is visiting the Captain today," Bell said. "So  you may want to knock first instead of just barging in."

Sherlock nodded. "You may want to have Mr. Jackson pay a visit to one of your interviewing rooms. At leastfor the time being."

Bell nodded. "I'll put Jackson in holding, while I check his record. Holmes, I hope we can keep this guy."

"So do I detective. So do I." Sherlock said as he knocked on Gregson's door.

"Come in!" Gregson called out. Sherlock enterd the office and Gregson made introductions: "Holmes, this is Commissioner David Bain. Commissioner Bain meet Sherlock Holmes."

"So you're the consultant that Tobias has been raving on about." Bain commented.

Sherlock shot a glance at Gregson, before he said; "I am, sir. Yes." The commissioner smiled.

"Well, Mr. Holmes, it was a pleasure to have met you. Gregson, keep up the good work and tell Sarah and the girls I said: "Hi."

Gregson nodded. "I'll do that sir." Again the Commissioner smiled, tipped his hat to the two men and left Gregson's office.
The captain sighed as he closed the office door. "He's looking to get re-elective." He explained.

"So I've noticed,." Gregson stared at Sherlock. Holmes continued, "He had a politician's smile."

Gregson blinked. "What does that mean?"

"Car salesmen and politicans each have one common tactic, Holmes explained. "They use smiling to have people believe that they can be trusted. Which is the farthest thing from the truth. of course." Sherlock told the captain.

"Huh. I never thought of it, that way." Gregson said. He noticed a large package in Sherlock's hand. "What's that?"

This is the package that Jackson tried to deliver to you a few minutes ago. Luckily Detective Bellwas able to prevent that from happening." Sherlock said as he gave Tobias the envelope. "Would you care to use my penknife?"

Gregsoon nooded. A few minutes later, the contents of that envelope were scattered across his desk.

"What's the point of all of this?" He asked.

"Perhaps, you should read this before you go digging into those photos."Sherlock suggested. He haned Gregson a report that came with the photos.

While Gregson finished reading the report he shook his head in amazement. "This is crazy. How did the cops back then ever manage to arrest anyone with reports like this? It reads like it was writen by a rookie."

Sherlock chuckled. "I imagine that your ancestor was a rookie, once upon a time while working for Scotland Yard."

That surprised Gregson. "You mean my ancestor actually worked along side yours  back in the day?" When Sherlock nodded, Gregson sighed. "If that's the case, what's the point of these packages? What's this guy trying to prove?"

"That history repeats itself, is one threory. As for the rest I'm not sure." Holmes replied.

"Great I guess we have to ask Jackson then don't we?"

Just then there was a knock on the door. "Come in! Gregson called out.

"Sorry to bother you ,but Jackson wants to talk to Holmes. He says it's important."

"All right, we'll be there in a minute. " Gregson replied.

"Captain, I believe that Detective Bell said that Jackson wanted to speak to me," Holmes said. "And yet, you said we'll be there. Or was I hearing things?"

"No," said Gregson,"you heard it right. We are going to talk to this guy. There's no way that you goona deal with this by yourself. It's safer all around if I join you. Got it?"

Sherlock nodded.  "Is it because of Morgan?" He asked.

The captain shook his head. "No. It's because I don't like the look of this guy. Come on, let's get this over with." Together the two men left Gregson's office determinded to get some answers from Jackson.

The End.
