WHAT JUST HAPPENED?!

WHO WAS MYCROFT TALKING TO? I HAVE AN EXTREMELY VERY NOT GOOD FEELING ABOUT THIS.

(JAMIE?)
venusinthenight: joan watson listening to sherlock (elementary - joan sits and listens)

It would make sense if enough time has passed for her to get out of prison and return to London/the UK.

Or it could be an associate of hers (e.g., the owner of the male voice who'd talked to Sherlock and Joan at the end of S1; she identified him as one of her lieutenants).

Or it could be a canon nod and be someone else connected to the British government.

I'm also beginning to seriously think that Mycroft, himself, is "M. Holmes", that his father had sod-all to do with sending Sherlock to NYC.

Wow, these are all great theories!

I looked up Newgate; it's actually in London, so it could easily be her. I really like your idea of a canon nod, though. Mycroft Holmes is supposed to be equally as brilliant as Sherlock himself, so I was a little confused by his portrayal as a more ordinary person; this would make sense. He would be able to cover himself up so well that not even Sherlock would suspect anything.

When I first saw 'M. Holmes', my first thought was that it was Mycroft, so that is very possible, too.

Good point! I didn't even think of the possibility that it might have something to do with Moriarty. Although I really hope that's not the case. It's much too early to bring her back.
