Nice enough, I think. Felt pretty much like a filler episode to me, especially with the ending, which will probably set up the new/old villain of the season arc.
The case was pretty obvious. Again. I'm not sure why it is, that the writers manage to make us care about the main and recurring characters, but suck so much at making us (yes, I should better say 'me') care about the people of the cases at all. The cases and the characters involved in them need some serious work. Although I admit that might be a problem with the format itself. Since this is pretty much the only show of this kind I watch, I can't compare it to others of the genre.
I liked the ending a lot. The last scene with Sherlock and Mycroft was getting way to schmoozy for my comfort, so I was very relieved to find out there was more to it than that. Also, Mycroft's act of the reformed older brother who only wants to reach out to Sherlock would have bored me to tears in the long run. There has to be more to their relationship and difficulties than Sherlock behaving like a petulant toddler just because he wants to. So this promises to be much more interesting :)
Where are Alfredo and Mrs. Hudson? :(
What's up with the eggs, Sherlock? That is a horrible waste of food.
