NEW YORK: CBS Consumer Products has signed its first licensing deal for Elementary with Titan Publishing Group, which has agreed to release a series of original novels based on the successful drama in 2014.

The books will be created in collaboration with the show's production team. Set in modern-day New York City, they will revolve around the lives of Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson.

The cast of Elementary is led by Jonny Lee Miller and Lucy Liu. The program was recently greenlit for a second season and currently airs on CBS on Thursdays at 10 p.m.

"Elementary is a dynamic series with many fascinating stories," said Liz Kalodner, the executive VP and general manager of CBS Consumer Products. "The novels will feature Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson in all-new adventures that will further engage fans in the mysterious world of Elementary."

Basically, they're creating books based off of a show that is based off of books. Maybe they'll be better than those Supernatural ones. I'd rather see some kind of graphic novel or a children's book involving the adventures of Clyde.

Yeah well I am going on the fact she goes by Miss Watson opposed to Doctor.

Actually, she IS "Dr. Watson." "Dr." is a title based
on an educational degree and has nothing to do with
being licensed. She's received an M.D. and therefore
she's a "Dr." whether she uses the title or not.

Yes! Adventures that involves Holmesian inductive thinking, and maybe some animal friendships along the way?

Doing licensed books based on a show based on a book series is kind of weird. But, as a freelance writer, I'm just glad that some work-for-people get to pay their bills thanks to this.

The adventures of Clyde! I would pay massive amounts of money to see him in graphic novel form.

Ohh, I'm keen to check these out. The Inception-ness of it all is so funny, though!
