Too many Watsons.

The show is dissipating its energy with yet another "New Watson."
Is this their way of easing out Lucy Liu?

Nah. Somewhere in there, Sherlock will have his full-on "I'm lost without my Boswell" moment, we'll find out what's in Kitty's past, she'll be phased out (NOT Joan), Sherlock will rebuild his trust with/in Joan and vice versa, and the two will move forward.

They better not be easing her out!

I wasn't enthralled with this episode. The chemistry between Watson and Holmes is what enthralled me last year - if there is going to be this bad blood for too long I'll struggle with my love for the show. Also, Kitty can go back to England.

Personally I thought this was a simi-sequel to "Step Nine" what with Holmes making his apologies to everyone he hurt while trying to justify his reasons for leaving those he cared about as he did.

As for Kitty; well I think she deserved having her bum kicked by Joan.

And am I the only who thought Sherlock & Kitty were together prior to her becoming his new star pupil?

I don't think Kitty will last for too long it sounds like she has something in her past that she left behind.

I will be fairly unhappy if Watson and Sherlock are at odds for to long.

Also didn't Lestrade warn Watson that Sherlock would leave her as well? I thought he had said something along those lines.

Overall though I liked it. It will be interesting to see how they proceed from here.

I don't know.

I'm not feeling this "new normal."

This ep felt static to me. Nothing moved forward, with the exception of the introduction of Kitty, who doesn't move the Watson/Sherlock dilemma forward one iota. There is no history there--at least at present--to detail or deepen the Watson/Sherlock relationship (like, say, with Irene). Kitty just appears. I'm dreading that they might try to do a "Mycroft" where there are a lot of lies and betrayals and both Sherlock and Watson are put in horrible danger, but it doesn't really move the story forward, like in the case of Mycroft. Which precipitated Sherlock and Watson's emotional rift.

Hmmm. Wait and see.
