Never been a fan of Watson/Mycroft ship, and nothing in this episode changed my mind. Especially since, after telling Mycroft off for lying, Joan seemed entirely too ready to leap into bed with him. Yes, she did find out that he rejoined MI-6 to keep Holmes safe, but it doesn't negate the very valid point she made earlier - that he should have been honest with his own brother.
But I liked the episode overall, and I thought that it was actually a exciting cliffhanger to end on. I'm legitimately curious to see how it pans out.
Totally agree. Why would she make that lovely and still very sympathetic speech that having reasons for his deception doesn't change the effect his actions have on the people he's close to, just to completely ignore her own conviction five minutes later, when he finds out that reason was Sherlock?
The first scene with Joan telling Mycroft off was a beautiful way to show how compassionate and strong she is. What followed after that was rather the opposite.
