Totally agree. Why would she make that lovely and still very sympathetic speech that having reasons for his deception doesn't change the effect his actions have on the people he's close to, just to completely ignore her own conviction five minutes later, when he finds out that reason was Sherlock?
The first scene with Joan telling Mycroft off was a beautiful way to show how compassionate and strong she is. What followed after that was rather the opposite.
