I knew 'M.' was going to be Sebastain Moran. All the clues were there. Figures he'd be an Arsonal fan. Military, hitman, works for a criminal mastermind...
MORIARTY.
Joan's going to stick around. Huzzah!
And we got to see the bees again. Plus Sherlock's 'homeless' network.
I know I'm a little late but I love how this show takes canon and sets it on it's head. Moran's still working for Moriarty but not as his right hand or sharpshooter but as a hired killer Moriarty has no problem sacrificing.
I am however afraid that Irene is in fact alive and now we have to wonder if Moriarty faked her death to drive Sherlock insane of if Irene faked her own death.
I do like Joan's staying but what will Sherlock say when he learns that she's staying on her own violation?
I would also love to see a Mary Morstan-esque person show up to help decipher the code Moran/Moriarty used in their texts.
I was really hoping the companion dynamic would be out of the way by now. It's an incredibly annoying device meant to keep the viewer...I dunno, anxious? But the show is built around the Joan/Sherlock dynamic, so we know it's not going anywhere, which makes this whole thing really stupid. What I want Joan to do is ask Gregson for a favor so she can take the police exam as soon as possible and begin to build a career as a cop. Though, now that I think about it, that would stall the show, since she's have to be in uniform for at least three years before being promoted to detective.
I wonder what the writers are going to do to resolve this companion dilemma. Unless they plan to keep Sherlock teetering on the edge forever in regards to his mental health, though now that Joan is staying of her own volition it's a different dynamic, which makes me think that there's a plan, because the easy thing to do would have been to have Sherlock's father agree to Joan's extension.
amazing episode)) so tangled and exciting! i was so sure that M is Moran, not Moriarty, and i'm so happy i was right)) this three weeks break for the next episode is realy smart move(( we all gonna get crazy while waiting of course, but it will be perfect condition to enjoy new episode))
speaking of "companion situation" - i am quite sure that "Holmes's dad" don't really exist, Watson was invited by Sherlock or Mycroft may be and now she is doing exactly what her employer wants (whoever he is of those two)
I loved this episode. Holmes was so serious that it's scary. In previous episodes, he would be all fidgety but in this one, he was all still and would appear out of nowhere. Moran is interesting as well. He is angry and has a ruthless side to himself but he could control himself.
Finally got a chance to catch up on the episodes, and I'm not sure I'm thrilled with the introduction of Moriarty. Not unless it turns out that there actually is a connection between all the murders, anyway. I want Moriarty the criminal genius, not Moriarty the serial killer, thank you very much.
I'm okay with Irene being dead, and even with her being Holmes's One True Love, as it precludes him turning Watson into a romantic interest. He can continue to use prostitutes and experiments to relieve his tensions and I don't have to put up with the writers wanting to nudge the two characters together romantically. It is annoying on one level, but the only person who's ever gotten Irene right after ACD is Carole Nelson Douglas anyway.
Hello, I am new to the comm, but I've been watching Elementary since the pilot.
This last episode draws a new light at Irene Adler's story. As I got the impression, there was only her blood at the crime scene... A lot of blood but nobody mentioned the body or funeral. That probably means that she is not dead at all! She faked her death because she needed to vanish from Holmes' life. I think she lived a double life from the start: spied on Holmes for Moriarty. That means she might appear in future episodes. I hope so very much! Dead Love Interest is boring for plot development!
I liked how the writers handled Sebastian Moran's story. That was thrilling to watch.
And I liked the ending. Did you payed attention on the song playing when Holmes looks at Moriarty's name? I heard something like "Me and the Devil"? Very appropriate choice!
Finally got a chance to watch the episode. Loved it! Miller did such an awesome job portraying Sherlocks pain. Really enjoyed the little moments between Watson and Sherlock how those two say so much without speaking, very well done. Moran was interesting in a very creepy way. I am more convinced now that Irene is alive especially since they never mentioned finding her body. Either she faked her death or Moriarty did. I so love the fact that Watson is staying even though she is no longer employed to do so.
I could go either way with Watson and Sherlock. If the writers keep them as friends that is fine, if they start to be more that is fine as well. Because lets face it even if they do decided to go the relationship route it will take forever anyway.
